Sept 18: Officially back in Switzerland!
Sept 11-15: At ICEAA 2017 in Verona, Italy. Presenting three papers on Tuesday, Sept 12.
Sept 7: Byebye Toronto, byebye dear friends and colleagues. Will come back for my second defense; promise.
Sept 5: First PhD Defense done! Big thanks to my PhD supervisor Prof. Costas D. Sarris and my PhD committee, Profs. Sean V. Hum, Wei Yu, and Joshua A. Taylor!
Sept 2: Our paper entitled "Optimal Design of Implants for Magnetically Mediated Hyperthermia: A Wireless Power Transfer Approach" has been accepted to be published in the Journal of Applied Physics!
Aug 19-26: At URSI GASS 2017 in Montreal, Canada, presenting our optimization of passively enhanced WPT systems.
August 3: Our new publication entitled "Optimization of Wireless Power Transfer Systems Enhanced by Passive Elements and Metasurfaces" for IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation is available online (early access)
May 9: Our new publication entitled "Semidefinite Relaxation-Based Optimization of Multiple-Input Wireless Power Transfer Systems" for IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques is available online (early access)
Mar 19-24: Presenting our WPT route to Magnetically Mediated Hyperthermia (MMH) for cancer treatment at EuCAP 2017 in Paris, France.
July 4: Back from my internship at Apple. It was great, I learned a lot — but now it's back to my research; trying to finishing up within a year... Keep your fingers crossed ;-)
Jan 1: Byebye Toronto, hello Cupertino, California. I'll be doing a 6-month internship at Apple, in their Signal & Power Integrity group (SEG-SIPI). For a devout Apple fanboy since the 90's, this is an absolute dream coming true — so excited!
May 15: Our paper entitled "Magnetic Near-Field Focusing and Optimal Wireless Power Transfer" received the 2nd price in the student paper competition of the IEEE WPTC 2015. Thanks to the organizers and the committee!
Since end of August 2012, I've been living and studying in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Born and raised in small (tiny) cities of Switzerland, the downtown of a megacity with over one million inhabitants was quite the game changer at first. However, I'm pretty happy in my new home now, the big smoke. More about what I've been up to over here, can be found in the about, research and picture sections.
